Video: 3-Steps to Happiness

I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for ways to bring a little more happy into my life.  As a result of this regular practice, I generally live a life filled with happy. Sure, I’ve had my bad days, and days filled with stress, but even then, there seems to be an underlying tone of happy.

Apparently, this started at a young age. My dad always said that I liked to have fun. He loves to remind me of the time I got sent to my room for something I had done wrong. (I truly can’t remember what the offending act was, but he said something along the lines of “Ashley, go to your room and think about what you’ve done, and I’ll be in to talk with you in a little while.”)

He says that when he walked up to my bedroom door to check on me, I wasn’t in the reflective & pensive state he had hoped. After opening my door he asked, “Well, Ashley. Have you had some time to think?”

I replied,  in all sincerity, “Wait… now what was the question?”

Instead of being worried about my “impending doom”, I seized the moment and opportunity to play without interruption, and was singing at the top of my lungs while while playing with my Barbies. I think he was as proud as he was irked, because as we all know, a person who can always find the bright side in any situation, tends to enjoy life a bit more.

Speaking of finding the bright side of things, I recently came across this blog entry from Gretchen Rubin’s The Happiness Project, which inspired today’s video.  Gretchen, you see, is an expert on happiness.

As she conducted the year-long project that became The Happiness Project, she realized that her home, in all its aspects, was the most crucial element influencing her happiness.

As in The Happiness Project, each month has a theme and finds Gretchen experimenting with several concrete, manageable resolutions meant to boost her happiness. One resolution alone, caught my eye, so I selfishly made this video for moi, and for my family/roomies, who don’t seem to grasp how easy to please I am, and how they can help deliver a little more happiness into my life and our home in just three simple steps.

To find out what I mean, watch the video below.
