~ Pinky Lee
Dear Pinky,
Usually, I would ask for more information to determine if replacing the countertops would be a wise investment. When home staging to sell, you want to be sure to make upgrades which are commiserate with the rest of the homes in the neighborhood. You also want to make sure the changes you’re making will reap a good return on investment. With that said, I don’t need to find out more because a red flag (or a “pink flag”, rather) was raised in my mind when you mentioned that your existing counter-tops have a pinkish hue. I can pretty much say that about 99.9% of the population does not want a pinkish hue in their kitchen!
You’re definitely going to want to replace or refinish those c-tops. Don’t despair, though…we’ve found some wonderfully affordable countertop refinishing options if replacing with granite or silestone isn’t in your budget.
