Since Bohemian-inspired design is one of my favorite trends (as you can see in this recent blog entry where I featured inspiration for a little girls Bohemian Chic bedroom) I wanted to include a link to this colorfully entertaining blog entry by Kelly Porter on SWSTIR.com.  In case you don’t have time to read and just want the Cliff’s Notes, keep these tips in mind when you’re designing your own Bohemian inspired space:

    • Because boho hues are usually a mix of saturated colors and earth tones, it’s often easiest to use neutral colors for the walls.
    • To complete your Boho look, layer on colorful textiles — using them as tablecloths, curtains and even upholstery.
    • Suzani-inspired motifs are a hot design trend right now.
    • Resources where you can find Boho pieces run the gamut: from flea markets, e-bay and Craigslist to World Market & Pier 1!

     Enjoy!

Lately, I’ve noticed an increased global-ethnic influence that’s bringing even more dramatic hues and patterns into the Bohemian design style. In fact, tribal textiles are especially haute items right now for those designers and homeowners willing to try something truly different and more colorful.
